Alfonso’s story, just like many others, began with a break. In 1998, a friend who worked with an ad agency recalled his ease and ability to communicate and improvise in both languages due to his business background. They were seeking a male talent to voice a television commercial in spanish for a leading national retailer who had launched in-house photo studios in their U.S. stores. No demo, no casting, no audition! Talk about faith. Although the producers couldn’t see him sweating and shaking from the other side of the glass as he recorded, fortunately, all went well.
This early experience resulted in many other recordings for that account which has continued quite fruitfully to this day with other companies in the retail sector. Alfonso has recorded for major retailers including Subway, Sears, Papa John’s, FIAT, Chevy, Disney, and many regional and other national companies such as LAN Airlines, Pep Boys, Brighthouse Networks, HH Gregg.
In addition to his broadcast work, his voice can be heard quite frequently on on-air promotions and commercials for leading U.S. television networks such as HBO Latino, NBC Universal, and the Univision/Galavision/Telefutura television group. He also records for other regional/national cable broadcasters in both English and Spanish. He was also the English language narrator of several recent seasons of Investigation Discovery’s crime series titled Cold Blood.
On the IVR/Voice/e-Learning side, he can be heard in both English and Spanish by clients of Hyundai, Kia, Microsoft, Compass Bank, Fifth Third, Walgreens, Honda, Acura, VW, MetLife, Baptist Health Group, in addition to utilities and government municipalities as well as countless of other major corporate voice information systems.
As his work on multimedia, digital and Internet productions continues to grow, and new producers, ad agencies and broadcasters seek out talents with his range and expertise, Alfonso expects to continue to record for these exciting and continuously evolving markets.
